Dear students,
Another semester is drawing to a close – another step towards graduation for many of you. For some, however, it was their very first semester at the University of Lucerne: an exciting introduction to a whole new world. This semester was also a special one for me. While it wasn’t my first at the University of Lucerne, it was my first in the role of Vice President for Teaching and International Relations.
Whether you are new to the university or a long-established student, I hope you felt as I did this semester: I learned many new things, met fascinating people, and gained enriching experiences.
Every semester brings its own challenges, opens new perspectives, and offers fresh insights and experiences. It takes us one step closer to our goals – whether a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree – but it should also be a time of enjoyment.
Meanwhile, the University of Lucerne also offers plenty of opportunities beyond a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree. For those interested in research, a doctorate leading to a PhD might be the next step, while others may choose one of our over 50 further education programmes, such as a CAS, DAS or MAS.
Whatever your current or future goals may be, and wherever you are on your journey, I hope your time at the University of Lucerne not only advances your aspirations but also fills your life with valuable experiences and wonderful memories.
As the semester draws to a close, I wish you success in your exam preparations, a restful festive season and a great start to the new year!
Professor Gisela Michel, Vice President for Teaching and International Affairs
