The closure of the post office in the Uni/PH building last year gave the University the opportunity to utilise the vacated rooms. The renovation of these rooms began at the end of November. The work is likely to cause noise, which will also be audible in the Uni/PH building. The renovation work is expected to last until the end of the year. We thank you for your understanding regarding the noise caused during this time.
The extension of the former post office premises will create 120 seminar places as well as additional group study places and further workplaces for students. There are also plans for a student-run café and bar under the management of the student shop (Studiladen). The SOL offices, which are currently located on Zentralstrasse, will also be relocated to the new premises. The planned behavioural science laboratory will also be located in this area.

The actual renovation work is scheduled to start in spring 2024 and the new rooms will be occupied in summer 2024. The work will be carried out under the management of Lucerne's Cantonal Office in Charge of Real Estate, the owner of the building.
