Career Services
The new service centre supports and assists students as they prepare for their careers, whilst also promoting faculty- and university based opportunities!
The objective of the newly created Career Services, which is part of the Student Administration Office, is o provide students with events and activities related to career entry, as well as training in the job application process and in career planning. The aim is to help students build their non-degree-specific competencies (generic skills) with regard to job applications, as well as their career and development perspectives, and thus to optimally prepare them for the transition to professional life. Furthermore, the Career Services also bundles together specific faculty and other opportunities for career entry and professional life. The new Career Services thus enhance the value of studying at the University of Lucerne in a lasting manner, well beyond the duration of one’s studies.
The Career Services Workshop series, which was offered for the first time in Spring semester 2019, met with a great response. We want to build on that! Extended offers are planned for upcoming semesters. More detailed information will be published on the Student Administration Office’s website as it becomes available, but will also be brought to the students’ attention in a timely manner in the new Career Services Newsletter.
With few exceptions, the offers of the Career Services are free of charge and primarily aimed at University of Lucerne’s undergraduate and graduate students. But of course, doctoral students and post-docs are also welcome. We look forward to assisting you with your career start and in honing your career competencies.
