Mitarbeitende im Gesundheitswesen sind häufig mit hohen emotionalen Anforderungen und Zeitdruck konfrontiert. Dies kann sowohl die mentale Gesundheit der Mitarbeitenden selber negativ beeinflussen wie auch die Qualität deren Pflege. In diesem Projekt untersuchten wir die Rolle der Führungskommunikation als möglichen Puffer für arbeitsbedingte Belastungen. Dazu werteten wir Umfragedaten von 145 Pflegepersonen und Ärztinnen und Ärzten in einem Krankenhaus aus. Unsere Ergebnisse deuten darauf hin, dass eine offene Kommunikationskultur, in der die Mitarbeitenden das Gefühl haben, dass auch ihre Stimme wichtig ist, zum Arbeitsengagement beiträgt und Stress und Kündigungsabsichten senkt. Ein Hauptgrund dafür ist, dass eine offene Kommunikation hilft, Rollenerwartungen zu klären sowie das Gefühl der Wertschätzung unter den Mitarbeitern fördert.
