Andrew Gloster ist ordentlicher Professor für Klinische Psychologie an der Universität Luzern, Prodekan der Fakultät für Verhaltenswissenschaften und Psychologie und Studiengangleiter der Weiterbildung in Prozessbasierter Psychotherapie. Nach seinem Studium an der Boston University und der Universität Leipzig promovierte er 2006 an der Eastern Michigan University und habilitierte 2016 an der Universität Basel. 2006 bis 2016 war Andrew Gloster als Postdoktorand und Oberassistent an der Technischen Universität Dresden und der Universität Basel tätig. Von 2016 bis 2022 hatte er eine SNF-Förderprofessur an der Universität Basel inne. Er ist zudem als Psychotherapeut, Trainer und Supervisor tätig.
Zu seinen Hauptforschungsinteressen gehören die Entwicklung und Implementierung psychologischer Interventionen sowie die Faktoren, die den Erfolg oder Misserfolg einer Behandlung beeinflussen; Psychotherapieprozesse, psychische Gesundheit, digitale Interventionen, methodologische Innovationen in klinischen Studien und prosoziales Verhalten. Seine Forschung zielt darauf ab, die psychische Gesundheit in verschiedenen Kontexten zu fördern und Instrumente zu entwickeln, die Psychotherapeuten bei ihrer Arbeit unterstützen. Er ist approbierter Psychotherapeut und ein leidenschaftlicher Mentor. Derzeit ist er Präsident der Association of Contextual Behavioral Science (ACBS), wo er auch Fellow ist.
