Dear Members of the MOL
The new position on the university's ethics board, a new language software or the call for the Open Science Prize - read what's new from and for the academic mid-level.
With best regards Your MOL Board
Tess Bardy (GWM), Matteo Frey (TF), Aline Leimann (RF), Alexander Ort (GMF), Antonia Steigerwald (KSF)
My name is Markus and I have been working at the Faculty of Law since 2014, currently as a senior research assistant. My research focuses on public law, especially fundamental rights, as well as energy and climate law. In addition, I deal with the question of how law affects technological innovation and how it can be designed to be as innovation-friendly as possible.

The Senate has approved the regulations for ensuring the integrity of study participants (Ethics Board Regulations). In order for the board to start its work in HS23, we are looking for a MOL member for this committee. This position is open to members from all faculties, which is why we are withdrawing our first call for elections.
Are you interested in representing the MOL in this important new function? Then apply, including a short CV, by 11 June 2023 at molremove-this.@remove-this.unilu.ch.

New software "Language Tool" available
Writing scientific texts in English or another language, e.g., articles for journals or book contributions, is a central part of scientific work. Fortunately, such software has recently become available at the University of Lucerne. The solution is called "Language Tool" and is comparable to other AI-supported programs like Grammarly. It can not only help avoid grammar and spelling errors but also significantly improve the language style.
If you require a license or if you are looking for further information, please contact Marco Antonini (marco.antoniniremove-this.@remove-this.unilu.ch). An university license will also be available if the demand is high enough.
