I represent the mid-level staff in the Senate together with Alexander and Patrick. The senate is the highest university body for academic issues and is responsible for professorial appointments, habilitations and other academic, personnel and financial business, among other things. When the MOL brings a concern to us, we examine - often together with the university management - how it can best be addressed and, if necessary, formulate a motion, which we then bring to the Senate for a vote.
I also represent the mid-level staff on the board of the University Association. The University Association is socially and politically active on behalf of the University of Lucerne. The association plays a particularly important role in political referendum campaigns that affect the interests of the university. Most recently, for example, it successfully campaigned for the establishment of the new faculties. Membership in the University Association is also open to all members of the mid-level staff. It is a perfect opportunity for better networking within Central Switzerland and is also very inexpensive with an annual membership fee of only CHF 25.
If you have any questions about the Senate or the University Association, please feel free to contact me.
