According to § 6 para. 2 of the regulations, the Ethics Board consists of three to six professors or habilitated members from different faculties, one representative of the Mittelbau and one representative of the students.
(Senior) assistants and doctoral students who are interested in empirical research and research with personal data are suitable for serving on the ethics board. Participation is also interesting for normative researchers, as it involves reviewing research projects for compatibility with fundamental rights and ethical standards.
The term of office is four years. There will be few meetings; most review procedures will be conducted electronically.
