Dear students,

The end of the year is just around the corner, lectures and seminars are drawing to a close and exam preparations are in full swing. A new semester will soon begin, packed with exciting content. New students at all levels and in all faculties are starting their work with us, and we are looking forward to welcoming them all! We will be breaking new ground not only in teaching, but also in research.

Former post office: renovation and reconstruction

The closure of the post office in the Uni/PH building last year gave the University the opportunity to utilise the vacated rooms. The renovation of these rooms began at the end of November. The work is likely to cause noise, which will also be audible in the Uni/PH building.

Workstations for students during the exam revision period

Looking for a quiet space to read and study? Between the 27th December and the 26th January 2024, spaces will be reserved for students on the basement floor of the Uni/PH building: Lecture halls 11, 12, 13 and 14 and for group work in the tutorium.

The MOL is committed to doctoral students

Doctoral students belong to the so-called academic mid-level and are automatically members of the University of Lucerne's mid-level academic staff organisation (MOL). The MOL represents the academic mid-level in the committees of the University of Lucerne and in public and is committed to ensuring that doctoral students achieve their professional and academic goals.

myAbility Talent Programme

The Swiss myAbility Talent® Programme takes place between March and September and connects students and graduates with disabilities or chronic illnesses with top Swiss companies. Applications can be submitted until 10th March 2024.

Career Services launch a new platform

The Career Services of the University of Lucerne have launched a new platform that brings students and graduates together with companies from the business world. The platform serves as a bridge between ambitious students and companies looking for talents.

If you are interested in taking part in an exchange, please take a look at the website of the International Relations Office (IRO) and contact the mobility coordinator within your home faculty in good time.

Sunday opening times for students during exam preparation

The library will have special opening times: 17th December and 7th/14th/21st January 2024 – from 9am to 5pm.
Students of the University of Lucerne, PHLU and HSLU can gain access via the night entrance, and with a valid CampusCard. More info (pdf)

HSCL Sports offer

The wide range of winter sports on offer can be discovered via the sports programme A-Z or via the search engine. The fitness centre is also open more than 70 hours a week during the lecture-free period. For details see www.hscl.ch

Strengthen yourself and your mental health!

The Psychological Counselling Centre Campus Lucerne offers personal counselling sessions during the semester and also during the semester break for students and staff facing challenges in their studies, at work and in their private lives. Workshops 'on demand' on various topics such as stress management, mindfulness, resilience or procrastination can be requested at any time. The offer is free of charge. Prevention of Sexual Harassment: confidants

The three Lucerne universities offer a joint service for persons affected by sexual harassment. Any form of sexual harassment at a place of work or study is unacceptable and will result in appropriate measures and sanctions. Affected persons have the opportunity to receive quick and competent support by contacting one of the four confidants. More info

horizonte – Chaplaincy for students

The weekend in accompanied silence at Engelberg Monastery from 1st to 3rd March 2024 is a unique opportunity for peace and self-reflection. The information evening will take place online. Further offers will follow in the course of the year.

Call for papers

On 19th June 2024 the International Conference on Theology and Leadership will take place at the University of Lucerne. Students are invited to submit proposals on future leadership models by the end of January 2024.
