Andrea Aegerter
Hi – I’m Andrea Aegerter, 32 years old, and live in Winterthur. With a background in physiotherapy, I completed my PhD in Care and Rehabilitation Sciences at the University of Zurich in 2022. Currently, I’m a postdoctoral fellow at the Faculty of Health Sciences and Medicine (GMF), focusing on back pain.
Why do I want to become a MOL board member? – I’m eager to actively shape the academic environment at the University of Lucerne and to advocate for mid-level staff, especially postdoctoral researchers. I’m convinced that my extensive experience in university politics and interdisciplinary collaboration, such as representing the mid-level staff of the University of Zurich (VAUZ) in both the Senate and the Faculty Assembly, as well as my roles as a student representative in my doctoral program and head of the PhD Peer Group, qualify me for this position.
Join me in empowering mid-level staff. Together we will strengthen our voice.

I am a sociologist of religion and political scientist at the Centre for Religion, Economics and Politics. I have been a member of the KSF for more than ten years now; first as a Master's student, then as a doctoral student and now as a postdoc. During my doctorate, I also acted as Liaison Officer of the Graduate School, where I attended the board meeting on behalf of the doctoral students. Due to my personal experience, I am not only familiar with the particularities of the different types of employment in the mid-level faculty, but also with the administrative and scientific processes at the KSF.

Since last September, I am a research fellow and PhD student at the Institute for Social Ethics, which is part of the Faculty of Theology. I am currently working on the question of how organizational structures in the field of nuclear safety can be designed in such a way that responsible decisions are made. In this project, my passion for ethics of responsibility merges with the desire to translate ethical work into action. I would be delighted to bring this drive to the Board of the University of Lucerne's Mittelbau Organization (MOL) in the future and to contribute to creating a working environment for all mid-level faculty members in which they can develop their potential.
