New issue of the university magazine "cogito"
The 14th issue of the University of Lucerne's knowledge magazine has been published. The main topic this time, including a focus on the new Faculty of Behavioural Sciences and Psychology: "We need to talk!" The magazine can be picked up from the dispensers in the Uni/PH building, and all articles are also available online (German only): www.unilu.ch/magazin.

Semester fee and keeping contact details current
Please remember to pay the invoice for the semester fee in order to keep your "enrolled" status: Payment deadline: Monday, 17 February 2025 Enrolment deadline: Saturday, 15 March 2025. After payment, you can download the enrolment confirmation from the UniPortal. New students will receive their confirmation of enrolment when they enrol in person. You can enter changes directly there at any time.

International Days 2025
From 14 to 16 April 2025, you will find comprehensive information about the university's mobility programmes in the foyer of the University of Lucerne. Learn about the opportunities for a stay abroad. Special highlight: Food & Chat on Tuesday, 15 April, from 12.00 noon: Find out first-hand why a semester abroad is a valuable experience. The International Relations Office, the faculties and former outgoing students will present the mobility programme for students, lecturers and staff.

Wanted: Mentors for "Campus Lucerne for Refugees"
In 2025/26, the University of Lucerne, together with the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts and the PH Lucerne, will again offer an integration pre-study programme for people with a refugee background with the Campus Lucerne for Refugees. We are looking for motivated and committed students to form language tandems with the participants and organise smaller events. Specialist support is provided by HSLU Social Work; social credits may be awarded depending on the faculty. A qualified certificate of attendance is issued at the end of the programme. Duration: 2 semesters. Time required: approx. 1 hour per week. Registration by Monday, 30 June 2025 via mobilityremove-this.@remove-this.unilu.ch.

Sunday opening times for students
The library will be open on the following Sundays and public holidays: 18/25/29 May and 1/8/9/15/19 and 22 June 2025, from 9am to 5pm. Students of a Swiss university or other higher education institution with a valid CampusCard or student card can gain access via the night entrance. More info

Crashkurs: pension planning for women
Studying is a big commitment - but what about retirement planning? Even when you're young, it's never too early to start thinking about your financial future. Women are twice as likely as men to face poverty in old age. Even while you are still at university, small steps can prevent big gaps in your pension provision. Summer day camp: register now
This year's summer holiday day camp for children aged 4 to 11 will take place from 7 to 11 July 2025 under the motto "Farm Adventure". The registration form and programme are available now. "Waste separation" awareness campaign
This spring semester, new stickers will adorn the PET and waste bins in the Uni/PH building. They are part of an awareness campaign by the association VENALU and the University of Lucerne to encourage members of the university to separate their waste correctly. More info
More sustainable snack vending machines
The sustainability strategy aims to ensure sustainable catering in the building, including the vending machines for drinks and snacks. As a result, FS25 is undergoing a trial period in which new, more sustainable products are being offered. The Sustainability Office is asking people to take part in a short survey to find out how the offer is received. The survey will be available from the start of the trial.

Students of the University of Lucerne are cordially invited to run with the Uni-Lucerne team at the Lucerne City Run (Luzerner Stadtlauf) on Saturday, 3 May 2025. The participation fees for students and employees of the University of Lucerne will be covered by the university. The University of Lucerne is also sponsoring a running shirt for participants. Mindfulness and meditation at the University of Lucerne
Stress during your studies? The university chaplaincy Horizonte offers inspiring opportunities for mindfulness meditation. On Monday, 7 April at 6.15 pm, Dr Gerald Virtbauer-Ohashi will give a lecture on stress management through mindfulness and Buddhist wisdom (Baloo, Room E5.08). If you would like to try the practice yourself, you can do so on Monday, 14 April from 5.15 - 8.15 p.m. at the breathing meditation workshop (Room of Silence, UG1). In addition, there will be a lunchtime meditation in the Room of Silence every Monday and Thursday from 12.15 - 12.45 p.m. during the semester. More info
Prevention of sexual harassment: confidants
The three Lucerne universities offer a joint service for persons affected by sexual harassment. Any form of sexual harassment at a place of work or study is unacceptable and will result in appropriate measures and sanctions. Affected persons have the opportunity to receive quick and competent support by contacting one of the four confidants. More info
Join the university choir
Rehearsals for the new concert programme start at the beginning of each semester. Rehearsals take place on Tuesdays at 7.00 p.m. in the Aula Sentimatt in Lucerne. University students who enjoy singing are very welcome. Especially the tenor and bass voices look forward to reinforcement. More info
"légèr’été": Campus Orchestra Lucerne (COL)
The upcoming spring concert of the Campus Orchestra Lucerne will feature a piano concerto by Mozart and works by Sibelius and Schubert performed by students, staff, alumni and alumnae of the Lucerne universities. New players are very welcome, especially string players, brass players and percussionists. No audition is necessary; rehearsals are usually held on Monday evenings during the semester. New student workspace on the ground floor
New study spaces are available for you on the ground floor, room E.202, formerly the «Studiladen». The tutorial room in the basement will soon be converted into a seminar room.
Semester lockers in the Uni/PH-Gebäude
644 semester lockers are available on the first basement floor (1. UG) of the Uni/PH building. The rent is CHF 5.- per semester. Keys are available at the Infodesk (8 a.m. - 12.30 p.m. and 1.30 - 4.30 p.m.) after prior registration using the application form. The fee must be paid in cash when collecting the keys. A valid CampusCard or ID must also be presented. More info
