23th March: national Sexual Harassment Awareness Day (SHAD)
Numerous universities, research institutions and university-related organisations are launching the first national Sexual Harassment Awareness Day on 23rd March 2023. The project is led by the University of Lucerne. Events and activities such as online presentations and workshops will take place throughout Switzerland on this day. Among other things, the University is organising an interactive forum theatre on the topic of sexual harassment together with the PH Luzern. Sunday opening times for students during the exam preparation period
The library will have special opening times: 14th / 18th / 21st / 28th / 29th May and 4th / 8th / 11th / 18th June 2023 – from 9am to 5pm. University of Lucerne and PHLU students can gain access via the night entrance, and with a valid CampusCard. More Info (pdf)
Master’s Information Evenings
The master's information evenings of each faculty will take place on Tuesday, 21st March 2023. Those interested in the Master's in Health Sciences can also attend selected courses from 20th to 23rd March and receive advice. More info
Swiss Study Foundation
The Swiss Study Foundation's Summer Academies are open to all students at Swiss universities. In interdisciplinary groups, participants are introduced to new areas of knowledge by experts. More Info.
Canteen 1574 new offers an evening buffet
The cafeteria team prepares fresh, varied meals with seasonal and regional products every day. The menu is primarily vegan-vegetarian with a limited selection of Swiss meat (buffet). As of today, there will also be an evening offering: the Free Choice Buffet is open from 5 to 7:30 pm, pay by weight at a preferential price. Cafeteria website with Menu
Invitation to the Lucerne City Run
All students are cordially invited to run with the Uni Lucerne team at the Lucerne City Run on the 29th April 2023. You can choose from three running categories with distances of between 1.5 and 7 kilometres. The focus is on the shared university team experience. All participants will receive a running shirt. Save the Date: summer holiday week
From 7th to 11th August 2023, the supervised holiday week for kindergarten and school children of students and staff of the University and PH Lucerne will take place once again. Information on the programme and registration will follow in March 2023 on the Website of the Office of Equal Opportunities (courses and events).

Language courses
The following language courses are offered in the spring semester for students whose native language is not German: German A1.1, German A2 and German B2/C1. Furthermore, we also offer, English speaking and writing C1 and above, Italian A1.2, and French B2.1. Online registrations are possible until the 22nd February.

Cambridge Core – extensive access to e-books in the social sciences and humanities
Around 20,000 e-books from Cambridge University Press in the social sciences and humanities are now accessible online on Cambridge Core. The offer allows unrestricted use of the titles for study, teaching and research. All titles can be searched and downloaded directly on the Cambridge Core platform or via swisscoveryRZS Uni/PH (on-site WLAN or via VPN).

HSCL: the new sports offer is online
In addition to 141 weekly training sessions and 99 courses/camps, the Sentimatt strength and fitness room is available for individual strength training. Also on offer are health and sports consultations, massage, digital offers and events such as Volleynight on 24 March. Sports programm A-Z.
Psychological Counselling Centre Campus Lucerne
The Psychological Counselling Centre Campus Lucerne (PBLU) offers students and employees of the University of Lucerne up to five free counselling sessions. Counselling sessions can also be arranged at any time as a preventative measure, to strengthen yourself. You do not have to be in a psychological crisis. myAbility Talent Programme
The Swiss myAbility Talent® Programme in Zurich takes place between March and September and connects students and graduates with disabilities or chronic illnesses with top Swiss companies. Applications can be submitted until 3rd March.
Singing in the University Choir
Rehearsals for the new concert programme start at the beginning of each semester. Rehearsals take place on Tuesdays at 7 pm in the Aula Sentimatt in Lucerne. University students who enjoy singing are very welcome. The tenor, baritone and bass voices are especially looking forward to welcoming new members. More Info
Neptun: Hardware at reduced prices
'Projekt Neptun' offers a selection of Apple, Lenovo and HP-laptops, tablets, printers and screens at significantly reduced prices. The devices are available for purchase until the 13th March 2023. More information via www.projektneptun.ch Demo Day: On 2nd March from 09:30am to 2:30pm the Neptun team, as well as representatives from various laptop manufacturers and shops will be in the university building (foyer area) to demonstrate their devices and to answer your questions. Help Point: For customers, there is a Help Point at the University of Lucerne for general technical support. For students, the first 60 minutes of support for their Neptun device are free of charge.

If necessary, you can change your language within UniPortal (German or English). The language you opt for will then apply to all of the bilingual communication that is sent out by the University of Lucerne.
