Sunday opening times for students during the exam revision period
The library will have special opening times: Sunday, 10th / 17th / 21st / 24th / 31st May and 1st / 7th / 11th / 14th / 21st June – from 9am to 5pm. University of Lucerne and PH students can gain access via the night entrance, and with a valid CampusCard. More Info (in German, pdf)
Language courses for students during Spring Semester
In coordination with the SOL, language courses for students will also be offered during the spring semester 2020: "Deutsch für Fremdsprachige B2/C1", "Speaking and writing B2/C1", "Italienisch A1.2" and "Français B1" (new). Master’s Information Evening and Master’s Week
The master’s information evenings for each of the four faculties and the new department will take place on Tuesday, 31st March 2020. Furthermore, anyone interested in the master’s programmes offered by the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences can also take part in Master’s Week, which runs from the 30th March to 3rd April. During Master’s Week students can attend any of the regular master’s lectures offered by the faculty, gain information on any of the master’s programmes offered, and receive individual support and advice. The Graduate Academy’s Course offer Spring Semester 2020
Our Generic Skills course programme provides an additional framework for training and supporting (post-) doctoral students on their way to a future career – be it in academia or in an other field. The Graduate Academy offering is directed at researchers, post-docs and doctoral students at the University of Lucerne and its partner institutions. For these persons it is offered free of charge.
Corona Virus: ongoing assessment of the situation
The Corona Virus continues to spread. To date, Switzerland has not been affected, but the University of Lucerne continuously monitors and reassesses the situation based on information provided by the responsible federal and cantonal authorities. The university also adheres to the guidance and instructions these authorities give. The Federal Office of Public Health (FOPH) has issued various recommendations for travelers to and from China. Additional measures on the part of the university are currently not indicated.

Action Day Against Sexual Harassment
"If you come too close, you have gone too far!" With this motto, we will be celebrating a Day Against Sexual Harassment at Swiss universities at the University of Lucerne on March 23, 2020. In addition to a few surprise campaigns organized by the Office of Equal Opportunities, students will also have the opportunity to get to know the persons of trust at the university. If you want to explore the topic more in depth, there will be an opportunity about a week later: In cooperation with the Berne conflict center www.konfliktuere.ch there will be a forum theater presentation (March 31st) and two interactive tours "Stattgewalt" (a word play meaning “Instead of Violence”) on 1st April. The next issue of the knowledge magazine "cogito" will appear towards the end of the semester. New articles are continuously published online; currently there is the interview with lawyer alumnus Thomas Iseli, who works as Head of the Legal Department of the Zurich cantonal police. An invitation to take part in the Lucerne City Run
All students are cordially invited to participate and be a part of the 'Uni-Luzern-Team' in the Lucerne City Run which takes place on Saturday, 25th April. You have the opportunity to choose from three different distances ranging from 1.5 to 7 kilometres. Participation is free of charge. Psychological Counselling Center Campus Lucerne: Workshops on demand
The psychological counseling center offers workshops for students on various topics. Most are in German, but the Swissinfo will be in English. 'Projekt Neptun' offers a selection of Apple, Lenovo and HP-laptops, tablets, printers and screens at significantly reduced prices. The devices are available for purchase until the 9th March 2020. If necessary, you can change your language within UniPortal (German or English). The language you opt for will then apply to all of the bilingual communication that is sent out by the University of Lucerne.
