Dear member of the MOL
‘" A peaceful Advent season!", as well-intentioned as the wish may be, for many of us December is anything but peaceful: finalising annual reports, chasing deadlines and taking care of exam supervision and homework corrections on the side. At the same time, everyday academic and private life continues apace. Time for contemplation? In short supply.
This makes it all the more important to take short breaks and create space to slow down. Here are a few suggestions:
- Browse through the sustainability report (perhaps with a cup of apple punch) - A discovery tour through the "Winter Wonderland of Research Data" - Aperitif at the Christmas Market with the MOL - Complete the MOL survey on working conditions at the University of Lucerne and do something good: Your feedback helps us to recognise potential for improvement and strengthens our position to enforce a better working environment.
With this in mind: don't let stress spoil the Festive Season - and find little moments that bring you joy.
Kind regards,
Your MOL Board Andrea Aegerter (non-faculty seat), Katharina Dölp (WF), Lea Keller (RF and Treasurer), Alexander Ort (GMF), Alejandra Rodriguez (ad interim), Johannes Saal (KSF), Joshua Schibli (TF)
Your opinion matters!
The second survey on working conditions at the University of Lucerne has been launched. So far, not enough MOL members have taken part. That's why we need you now! Thanks to the last survey, we were able to initiate concrete improvements and strengthen our position in discussions with the university management.
This time we are going one step further: in addition to working conditions and satisfaction, we are also taking a closer look at the research infrastructure and IT services - topics that were often mentioned as critical by MOL members.
The survey only takes 5-10 minutes. We would be delighted if you would complete it and will benefit enormously in our commitment to a better working environment! The link to the survey: https://www.soscisurvey.de/MOL2024/

Winter Wonderland of Research Data
Join us on December 10th, from 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., in the foyer of the University of Lucerne for a delightful journey into the Winter Wonderland of Research Data!
The event brings together key stakeholders in the field of research data management, such as the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF), SWISSUbase, and the «Prophylax» program of the Federal Intelligence Service. You will have the opportunity to visit these «exhibition stands», ask questions, and engage in informal discussions with the stakeholders.
The registration deadline for the aperitif has passed. However, you are welcome to visit the stands spontaneously at any time without prior registration.
MOL Meetings
The MOL meetings offer you a place to exchange ideas and network within the academic mid-level. In addition, we regularly organise events on relevant topics for the academic mid-level staff. Three meetings take place during the semester.
On Wednesday 11 December 2024 we will meet at 4 p.m. in room E.508 (general MOL info / interim results of the MOL survey) and from 5 p.m. we will go to the Christmas market for an aperitif. We look forward to seeing you!
