"Since February 2023, I have been involved as a teaching and research officer in, among other things, training students in qualitative methods at the Faculty of Health Sciences and Medicine. Due to my many years of experience in the collection, evaluation and management of personal data generated in qualitative as well as quantitative methods, I am sensitised to the legal and ethical challenges researchers from various disciplines face when implementing their empirical projects. Protecting the fundamental rights and ethical standards of those involved in a research project, at a time when technological developments and the availability of data are increasing exponentially, is of particular concern to me. As a mid-level representative on the Ethics Board, I would like to support researchers in the implementation of their empirical research projects and promote scientific integrity and thus public acceptance."

"As a research assistant and doctoral candidate at the Institute of Social Ethics ISE, I am deeply engaged with various ethical issues on a daily basis. I would be delighted to share my experiences with the newly established Ethics Commission. I perceive the commission not only as a "compliance board" but as a body with broad ethical responsibilities. With my research background, expertise, and ethical sensitivity, I aim to actively contribute to fulfilling these responsibilities. Additionally, my background in economics and political science enables me to engage in informed discussions regarding relevant empirical work. Being independent of the faculties, whose research is influenced by the decisions of the commission, allows me to bring an objective and neutral perspective, crucial to an ethics commission. I am motivated to uphold and prioritize the ethical standards of our university and research, placing human integrity at the centre. It would be a pleasure for me to utilize my expertise as an ethicist within the new Ethics Commission."
