Dear members of the MOL The success of university self-administration stands and falls with the commitment of members of the various stakeholder groups in committees and commissions. As the mid-level faculty organization, it is the central task of the MOL to bring in the perspectives and interests of, for example, doctoral students, postdocs, or teaching and research assistants through representatives in the corresponding committees and commissions. Therefore, today's Infomail is dedicated to the upcoming elections of these representatives: The University Association has informed us of its intention to appoint a member of the MOL to its board. We are happy about the possibility to include the perspective of the MOL in the work of the University Association! Other current events include the upcoming elections for the MOL Board as well as open positions for representatives on two commissions. Details about the vacant positions and the MOL's commitment can be found below. We wish you a good read. With best wishes, Your MOL Board Sandra Gratwohl (KSF), Aline Leimann (RF), Alexander Ort (GWM), Monika Plozza (RF)
NEW: MOL REPRESENTATION IN THE UNIVERSITY ASSOCIATION
The University Association promotes the development of the University of Lucerne, strengthens its ties to the population and works to raise financial resources. Founded in 1997, the politically and religiously neutral association has played a significant role in several cantonal and municipal votes, such as the founding of the university (2000), the location of the university building and the new building project (2006), as well as the revision of the University Law (2014) as the basis for the establishment of the Faculty of Economics and Management. Among other things, the University Association endows the awards for outstanding doctoral theses at the university. It currently consists of about 1200 members; membership is open to all individuals and legal entities. Website: www.unilu.ch/verein.
