Dear members of the MOL
With today's mail, we would like to especially draw your attention to two vacant MOL offices and the upcoming re-elections. All information can be found in the section "The MOL needs you". Already today we announce an extraordinary March Infomail, which will be fully dedicated to the working groups of the MOL. We are looking forward to an engaged MOL spring.
With warm regards Your MOL Board Monika Plozza (RF), Naemi Jacob (WF), Noemi Honegger (TF), Sandra Gratwohl (KSF), Tanya Kasper Wicki (GWM)
In this section, MOL representatives or members of the board introduce themselves in order to give an insight into the many activities in which MOL members are involved.
Today in focus: Naemi Jacob, doctoral student at the Center for Human Resource Management (CEHRM) and MOL board member. "I have always been fascinated by the behavior and experience of people. This was one of the reasons why I decided to study psychology at the Universities of Lausanne and Zurich. I really appreciate the contact with people and the interdisciplinary collaboration with persons from different fields. The versatile and varied work for the MOL Board allows me to exchange ideas internally and externally, to learn new things, and to advocate for concerns of mid-level faculty members."
Vacant offices and re-elections
For the MOL to continue to be effective in all areas, we require reinforcement. Specifically, we are looking for individuals who
- stand for election for the office of treasurer of the MOL.
- to represent the MOL at ActionUni, the Swiss umbrella organization of mid-level faculty organizations.
The following are standing for re-election for the 2nd term of office
- Philipp Blum (TF) for the representation of the MOL in the research committee (FoKo).
- Cyrill Mamin (KSF) for the representation of the MOL in the teaching and learning committee (ULEKO)
- Sandra Gratwohl (KSF) for the representation of the KSF in the board of the MOL.
If you have questions or are already convinced that one of the offices is worthwhile, please contact us at molremove-this.@remove-this.unilu.ch by March 10, 2021. You are also welcome to stop by the next MOL meeting (see below) first. (Re)elections will be held by circulation via mail as of mid-March. We look forward to getting to know you!
Petition Academia - Working Group for Better Working Conditions in Science (ACCORDER, University of Geneva)
The national petition to end precariousness at Swiss universities is making great progress: it now has more than 5,800 signatures and several politicians have brought the demands of the petition to the parliaments at the cantonal and federal level. Now, the mid-level faculty association "ACCORDER" of the University of Geneva is founding a working group to exchange ideas on a national level and to jointly consider how to achieve better working conditions in academia. We are looking for members of all mid-level faculty associations in Switzerland. Are you interested in representing the MOL? Then contact molremove-this.@remove-this.unilu.ch.

MOL-Meetings
The MOL meets during lunch on the first Tuesday of each month to discuss current topics concerning the mid-level faculty and to coordinate future activities. All who are interested in the activities of the organization and/or have a concern for the MOL are welcome to attend. Due to the pandemic, meetings will continue to be held via ZOOM, the series link is available here. The next meeting will take place on Tuesday, 2 March 2021 (12.30-13.30).
