Course Strategic Management will be replaced
Starting with the upcoming fall semester 2022 the course "Strategic Management" (3 Cr) will be replaced by "Introduction to Business Administration" (3 Cr). The lecture will still be taught by Prof. Leif Brandes. However, the content of the new course is broader and gives an overview of the different business administration tasks, of which strategic management is one. If you have any questions regarding the planning of your studies, please do not hesitate to contact our academic student advisors.
Changes to the law section BA Economics and Management
Also beginning with the upcoming fall semester 2022, there will be some changes to the law lectures:
- the amount of compulsory legal courses will be reduced from 18 to 15 credits, in return the number of optional compulsory courses will be increased by 3 credits
- Introduction to Law I & II will become Public Law & Private Law, each with individual examinations at the end of the semester
- Corporate & Business Law is now scheduled for the 4th semester, in return Commercial Criminal Law is recommended in the model curricula in the 2nd semester
Students who are already in their studies and who have so far taken only certain or none of the courses affected by the changes will be contacted individually and informed about the possibilities.
The new model curricula can be found on this website. If you have any questions regarding the planning of your studies, please do not hesitate to contact the academic student advisors.
Courses before the start of the semester
In the fall semester 2022, individual courses will also be offered before the start of the semester. Please make sure to check in advance in the view "Course of Study" in the course catalog whether the courses are creditable in your study program.
Ethics and Critical Marketing (Antonetti)
Python – a non-technical introduction (Meierer/Bachmann)
Machine Learning for mere mortals: Workflow, key models, & coding (Meierer / Löwenberg)
HR Business Simulation (Rutishauser/Wegmann)
Introduction to "R"
For some WF courses, knowledge of the software "R" is required. In the tutorial for the compulsory MA-course Causal Analysis, an introduction to "R" takes place in the first two weeks. Master students without knowledge of "R" are therefore recommended to attend at least this introduction at the beginning of their studies (even if the course as a whole is completed at a later time).
At Bachelor level, an "R introduction" course is offered in German. No credits are awarded for this course.
