Dear Students
The past semester was exceptional in many ways. Thanks to great efforts from all sides, we were able to master it well, given the circumstances. After the well-deserved summer break, we are now looking forward to the coming fall semester. As you may have already heard, it will take place in hybrid form, which means a combination of classroom and digital teaching. At the University of Lucerne, we are guided in this respect by the principle "as personal as possible, as digital as necessary".
Regardless of the external circumstances and the form of the teaching, everyday life and the course of study will continue. Some of you are preparing to graduate - we wish you a good final spurt on the way to your diploma. Others are in the middle of their studies - we wish you continued success. On this occasion, I would like to especially welcome our new students at the Faculty of Economics and Management (WF). The first section of this mail is specificially for you.
I wish you all a good start and stay healthy.
Warm regards Prof. Dr. Christoph A. Schaltegger Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Management

Coronavirus: hybrid teaching and mask duty
Due to the coronavirus, the courses in the fall semester 2020 will take place in a hybrid mode. Hybrid teaching means the combination of classroom teaching and digital teaching. From the beginning of September, you can find out which course is being held in which form in the course catalogue.
From August 17th onwards, it will be compulsory to wear a mask in the university building. Further important and continuously updated information regarding Coronavirus can be found on the information page of the university.
Registering for courses via OLAT
Before attending your chosen courses, you must register via the e-learning platform OLAT. Only students who have registered for the courses will receive information from lecturers by e-mail and access to course materials.
It is within the responsibility of the students to check, whether courses are eligible for crediting to study programmes. Use the ‟Course of Study” search function in the Course Catalogue to see which courses are eligible for credit. If a course is not eligible, students may not complete any course work or earn any ECTS points in the study programme. In case of questions, please contact our academic student advisors.
For tutorial groups, a separate OLAT registration is required. Places are limited and will be assigned on a “first come, first served” basis.
OLAT registration is open from 31 August to 25 September 2020. Exceptions are communicated in the course catalogue. Guide to Registering for Courses via OLAT.
