Dear students,
"When I see this beautiful room and your university building, then I immediately want to apply for a job here at Unilu." This is what the President of the FISU Education Committee said to me during her recent inspection visit for the FISU World Conference which will take place at Unilu as part of the Winteruniversiade from 25th to the 27th January 2021.
This was not the first time that I received such compliments about the Uni/PH building from guests from other universities. These guests are not only impressed by the architecture, they also notice how clean our building is. I am often asked whether the building is new. No – it isn’t a new building. It is now beginning to age. In summer we had to update the AV systems and switch to laser projectors in all the small and mid-sized seminar rooms. The large lecture rooms will be updated next year.
My colleagues from Facility Management and I are very pleased with the compliments we receive from guests, and I would very much like to pass these compliments on to you students. You play your part in ensuring that the building still looks clean at the end of each day, and that our building is well kept. You keep the seminar rooms and corridors clean, you use the rubbish bins and you recycle your PET bottles. We don’t take this for granted – we notice your efforts. Many thanks!
PS: In January the library is likely to be very busy. We will provide other rooms for you in which to study. Please take note of the information on these alternative rooms and all the best with your exams!
PSS: From the 21st to the 31st January 2021 the Winteruniversiade 2021 will take place in Lucerne and Central Switzerland. This will be a truly unique experience. Find out more on our website, on social media and at our One-Year-To-Go event on the 21st January 2020.
I would like to wish you a joyful holiday season and a successful start to the new year!
