Messages from the University Executive Board
Online language teaching for refugees
The Lucerne University of Teacher Education, together with other universities, is supporting an offer to provide language lessons for people from Ukraine. Students at the University of Lucerne can also take part in this offer and give free online lessons to refugee children and adults in Switzerland via the language learning app 'Lolingu'. More info
'Open Door' at Rector’s Office
Once per semester, the rector will open his door at a specified time. The next opportunity will be Tuesday, 14th June from 9-11am. The rector will be available for questions, and welcomes your concerns, wishes and suggestions. Please register via e-mail to rektoratremove-this.@remove-this.unilu.ch.
Building closed between 1st and 15th August
From 1st to 15th August 2022, the Uni/PH-building will be closed in order to allow the annual inspection and maintenance work to be carried out. The building can only be accessed by university staff via the night entrance point.
Free places for summer holiday week
The supervised summer holiday week dffered by the Office of Equal Opportunities for kindergarten and school children will take place from 18th to 22nd July 2022. There are still places available for children of university students and staff. Please register by 30th May via the online form. Contact: chancengleichheitremove-this.@remove-this.unilu.ch

Sunday opening times for students during the exam preparation period
The library will have special opening times: 26th/29th May and 5th/6th/12th/16th/19th June 2022 – from 9am to 5pm. University of Lucerne and PH students can gain access via the night entrance, and with a valid CampusCard. More info (pdf)
Workstations for students during the exam revision period
Looking for a quiet space to read and study? During the exam period spaces will be reserved for students on the basement floor of the Uni/PH-building: Hörsaal 11, Hörsaal 12, Hörsaal 13, Hörsaal 14 and for group work the tutorium is reserved from the 7th June to 1st July 2022.
The library’s summer opening hours
The library in the Uni/PH building will close at 18.30 (instead of 21.30) from 4 July to 27 August. On Saturday, the usual opening hours apply (07.45-15.30). During the weeks which the ZHB library is closed, from 1st to 15th August 2022, media from the Frohburgstrasse location can be ordered to other locations. The library at the Sempacherstrasse location will be open during these weeks. The remaining libraries in the courier network will reopen after their summer closure on 8th August 2022.
Sports offer
The summer holiday trainings start after the end of the semester. The exact dates and information on all the trainings available are published on the HSCL-Website.
Psychological Counselling Centre Campus Lucerne
No time to talk about it during the semester? The Psychological Counselling Centre is also open during exam and holiday periods for students and staff. Book your counselling appointment via www.pblu.ch.
horizonte – Chaplaincy for students
The next lecture in the lecture series 'The Mafia: a threat to Switzerland' will take place on 25th May at 5.15 pm and will be held in German. All interested parties are cordially invited to attend. With 'Pizza with my Prof' there is the opportunity to get to know a professor outside of the lecture hall. Have you been renting a locker this semester? Please return your locker key by Friday, 1st July (latest) to the Infodesk. Please note: your locker must be fully emptied; please leave the door open and close the lock. Costs and further information
News from the Studiladen
The Studiladen is the place to go for stationery items, exercise books etc., currently with a 25% discount on all revision books. The shop is open until 27th May, the online shop remains open, with reduced product range in July and August. Online orders are now shipped climate-neutrally, additional costs are not passed on.
Online Master’s in Philosophy, Theology and Religions
The new English-taught online Master's programme in Philosophy, Theology and Religions is inter-religious and also addresses the relationship between philosophy and religion. More info
University magazine and the annual report ante portas
The next issue of the academic magazine 'cogito' and the university’s annual report for 2021 will be published soon. They will be available in printed form at the entrance and on the 3rd/4th floor of the Uni/PH building and can be accessed via www.unilu.ch/magazin and www.unilu.ch/jahresbericht.

Distribution of the Semester Info is done in either German or English. German version
If necessary, you can change your language within UniPortal (German or English). The language you opt for will then apply to all of the bilingual communication that is sent out by the University of Lucerne.
