Messages from University Management
New class times
From the autumn semester 2016 class times will run on a different schedule, namely a continuous two-hourly cycle from 8am until 8pm. This new arrangement will, on the one hand, cater for the increased room requirement due to the addition of the Faculty of Economics and Management. On the other hand, the extension of the lunch break will relieve the cafeteria, which will, in future, offer warm meals from 11:30am until 2:30pm. This change was made in consultation with the student organisation SOL, which welcomes this new schedule. Class times will be visible in the electronic lecture schedule. (Wolfgang Schatz, Academic Director)
German course for non-natives
In the autumn semester of 2016 the University of Lucerne will once again offer a German course for students whose first language is not German. The course is particularly suitable for students from Italian- or French-speaking Switzerland, however other foreign students and exchange students are also very welcome to join. The course will run during the semester in 6 blocks, on Tuesdays from 4:15pm to 7:30pm. Alongside the language lecturer, university students will actively participate as tutors. This will allow a more intensive classroom supervision and a good German language immersion. Furthermore, there will be student events organised to further practise your German, including film evenings with subsequent discussions, thematic city tours etc. Registration is already open. Further information, course fee and registration (in German)
