New e-book packages
The purchase of e-book packages from selected renowned publishers has substantially increased the ZHB Lucerne library’s scientific e-book offering. The archive has been integrated into the iluplus.ch search engine and the library’s website offers an overview of all the e-media on offer.

Google & Co: Course offering in information search and information management
Would you like to be able to find and manage specific literature efficiently? Would you like to get better accustomed with the electronic resources on offer? In the spring semester we will be offering regular input on these topics in our series of courses entitled 'Google & Co'. The courses are free of charge and no registration is necessary. The 15th edition of International Career Day (ICD) will take place on Thursday, 15th March 2018. The Federal Department of Foreign Affairs (FDFA) invites university graduates and young academics to the Congress Center in Basel to meet representatives of international organisations and learn about their activities and career opportunities. Talk series 'Vom Studium ins Berufsleben'
A series of panel discussions on the topic of career entry and professional practice will take place, starting with two podium discussions over lunchtime. The podium panel will share their own experiences and report on their own pathways from the world of study to the work place. They will give practical suggestions and will answer your questions. On Tuesday, 10th April the topic 'Entwicklungszusammenarbeit' will be discussed and on Wednesday, 11th April the topic will be 'Etwas mit Medien'. Details on podium discussions over lunchtime (HS 8)

Sunday opening times for students
The library will have special Sunday opening times on the following Sundays and public holidays (Ascension, Whit Monday, Corpus Christi):

Master’s Information Evening and Master’s Week
The master’s information evenings for the Faculty of Theology, the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences and the Faculty of Law will take place on Tuesday 20th March 2018. Furthermore, anyone interested in the master’s programmes offered by the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences can also take part in Master’s Week, which runs from the 19th to the 23rd of March. During Master’s Week students can attend any of the regular master’s lectures offered by the faculty, gain information on any of the master’s programmes offered and receive individual support and advice. Google Bootcamp
In cooperation with Google, a 'Google Bootcamp' will take place on the 26th March and the 23rd April. The two day workshop includes an introduction session followed by a more in-depth analysis of how to handle Google AdWords. At the end of the workshop students have the opportunity to acquire the Google AdWords certificate. The Google Bootcamp will be conducted by a representative from Google and forms part of Prof. Dr. Reto Hofstetter’s lecture series 'Digitales Marketing'. Workshops by students for students
Introduction to PowerPoint, Prezi or Zotero, tips on using the internet – many student workshops have already been organised. For the spring semester 2018 we are again organising workshops for students by students: why not try your hand at teaching!?
How does it work? You prepare your workshop, put together a handout and conduct your workshop twice. You are free to choose your preferred times and a room will be provided. Please contact zentrum.lehreremove-this.@remove-this.unilu.ch with your proposed title, a short description and your preferred workshop times. Confirmations in PDF form: Matriculation and Exmatriculation
You can download your confirmation of matriculation as a PDF document. The PDF is ready for download as soon as you have paid your semester tuition fees and the payment is visible in our system. Equally, you can download your confirmation of exmatriculation as a PDF document (up until 90 days after the end of the semester). Here’s how: Log in to UniPortal > section 'For students' > Confirmations

Semester Info in German or English
Distribution of the Semester Info is done in either German or English. German version
If necessary, you can change your language within UniPortal (German or English). The language you opt for will then apply to all of the bilingual communication that is sent out by the University of Lucerne.

Lucerne’s first Sustainability Week
From the 5th to 10th March, Lucerne’s first Sustainability Week will take place at the University of Lucerne and the HSLU. A range of different events focusing on the issue of sustainability will take place during this week including discussions and presentations on 'What is Sustainability?', 'Zero Waste', 'Water Resources', as well as a film evening on the subject of 'Clothing'. Lucerne’s Sustainability Week is part of Swiss Sustainability Week, a Swiss-wide initiative. All events are open to the public and free of charge! Prevention of Sexual Harassment: newly designated confidants
#MeToo were the words of the year in 2017. Long before the women and men in Hollywood went public with their accounts of systematic sexual harassment in the workplace, Campus Luzern recognised and took action against this problem. Any form of sexual harassment at a place of work or study is unacceptable and will result in appropriate measures and sanctions. Anyone affected can expect to receive quick and competent support from one of the four designated confidants: Lucia Sidler (University of Lucerne), Irene Müller (HSLU), Jonas Bamert (PH Luzern) and Roland Blunier (external confidant).
