It is a pleasure to welcome you today with this first Infomail. 

I hope you have had a good start to the new year, have successfully completed your exams and are now enjoying a few more days off before the start of the spring semester. The new semester is a very special one for you, as you are now students of the new Faculty of Health Sciences and Medicine. With the foundation of the Faculty, we have reached an important milestone. Even if this changes little for you in your studies, this step strengthens our interdisciplinary and interprofessionally oriented degree programmes. We are pleased to count you as students of our young and dynamic faculty.

With these Infomails, from now on, we would like to inform you regularly in the future about important aspects concerning your studies. Therefore, I ask you to read the information below carefully.

Below you will find important dates of the Faculty of Health Sciences and Medicine.

The spring semester 2023 starts on 21 February 2023 and ends on 2 June 2023. You can find the exact semester dates here.

Registration via the e-learning platform Moodle is required for attending the courses in the Health Sciences degree programmes at the Faculty of Health Sciences and Medicine. Enrollment starts two weeks before the start of each semester and is possible until two weeks after the start of the semester in the BSc Health Sciences programme and until two weeks after the start of the course in the MSc Health Sciences programme. Students who have registered for the course will receive access to course documents and course information from the lecturers.

Please make sure that you are enrolled in the "News & Announcements" course in Moodle. You will also receive information from us via News & Announcements directly to your @stud.unilu.ch e-mail address.

Mandatory registration for exams and courses starts on 17 May!

Only those who have registered onUniPortal from 17 to 31 May 2023 can take part in the examinations and obtain credits at the Faculty of Health Sciences and Medicine (GMF). This regulation applies to all GMF courses (unless otherwise communicated in the course!).

Registration via UniPortal is also compulsory for courses that do not end with a written examination.

Registration is binding. Deregistration after 31 May is no longer possible.

!!!  The registration and deregistration period runs from 17 May 2023 from 00.00 hrs to 31 May 2023 at 24.00 hrs !!!!

The examination dates and times can be found in the course catalogue and on the examination schedule. Changes will be communicated as soon as they are known. The examination schedule, instructions for UniPortal registration for examinations and courses, the date on which grades are announced and further information can be found on our examination website.

Announcement of grades

The grades for the spring semester 2023 will be published by 14 July 2023. The grades can be viewed via the UniPortal. You will find the instructions on the website under the heading "Examinations".

Are you planning to complete your studies this semester? If so, please enter your current address in the uniportal.

You will receive the invitation and the opportunity to register for the graduation ceremony after you have passed your final exams. The graduation ceremony will take place on Monday 11 September 2023.

Bachelor in Gesundheitswissenschaften:

• Information event for the 2nd practical module (only for students in the 4th semester): Monday, 6 March 2023, from 08.15 - 10.00 a.m. at the University of Lucerne in lecture hall 5. 
  In this information event, the interprofessional practical module, the framework conditions, the organisation and the associated performance record are discussed.

Master in Health Sciences:

• Internship Fair Spring Term 2023: Thursday, 4 May 2023, from 16.15 - 18.00 p.m. at the University of Lucerne in the Tutorium.
• Information event Master Procedure (only for students who are about to start their Master Thesis): Monday, 8 May 2023, from 10.15 - 12.00 a.m. at the University of Lucerne in room 3.B58.

Consultation hours

During Spring Term 2023, consultation hours take place Mondays from 13:30-15:00 p.m. in Room 1.B01.  There are no regular office hours during lecture-free periods. Please make an appointment via e-mail.
