Catrin Scheiber is originally from Wales, UK and completed her first degree, BA Joint Honours in History and German at Cardiff University. In 2005 she became a qualified secondary school teacher, obtaining a Postgraduate Certificate of Education in Modern Foreign Languages from the University of Bristol. Pursuing her interest in linguistics further, particularly second language acquisition, she completed an MA in Applied Linguistics and TESOL from Portsmouth University in 2011.

In September 2013 Catrin joined the University of Lucerne as Head of the International Relations Office. Her main responsibilities include management of the International Relations Office, university-wide international co-operations and agreements, as well as international marketing.
