Non-discrimination
Gender equality and justice concern us all. Equal representation of men and women at all levels and in all areas represents an important step towards genuine equality. Texts and images describe realities and also shape our thinking. By taking gender equality into account when using texts and images, we are helping to ensure that both genders are represented – in everyday life and in our minds.
At the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts, the University of Lucerne and PH Lucerne, equal linguistic treatment of men and women in text and images is designed to be a matter of course. By doing this we are taking responsibility to keep up with the times and show those both within and without the way forward.
The guidelines (in German) can be downloaded here as a PDF file or obtained in print format from the Office of Equal Opportunity, office 3.A24.
People with physical and/or mental disabilities or chronic illnesses are often faced with great challenges and obstacles during the course of their studies. The University of Lucerne strives to break down these barriers and compensate for any disadvantages.
The Office of Equal Opportunity offers information, advice and individual clarification for current and prospective students with disabilities. Lecturers and employees can also contact the Office if they have any questions.
The Office works in close collaboration with academic advisors and responsible authorities within faculties.
