The rapid spread of COVID-19 is also worrying the University of Lucerne. As an institution that is rooted within the social sciences and humanities, the University is deeply committed to responsibly act vis-à-vis individual persons, and society as a whole. Protecting all members of the University – its students, faculty and employees – is of utmost importance to our institution. At the same time, we are committed to ensuring the continuation of our educational programs. Our students should be able to carry on with their studies throughout the semester.

For these reasons, the University will go digital as of March 16. University activities will not resume, and the semester will not be interrupted. We will move these activities online, though. Over the last few days, technological solutions could be found to address this challenge. Also, we can count on the expertise of our staff, whose capacity has been boosted. All of our teaching, as well as our meetings and discussions, will take place online. These measures will remain effective, as currently expected, until the end of the Easter Break (Monday, April 20 2020).

Until further notice, access to our buildings is not restricted.
