Ethics Professor Peter G. Kirchschlaeger was presented with this year's "Best Teacher Award" at the Dies Academicus of the University of Lucerne. In her laudatory speech, jury member Samira Guyot emphasized the tangible and inspiring connection to practice.
Peter G. Kirchschlaeger is Professor of Theological Ethics and the Director of the Institute of Social Ethics ISE. He researches and teaches on ethics of “AI” and digital transformation, business ethics as well as ethics of human rights. He is the founder and director of studies of the Master's degree program in Ethics, which is offered at the University of Lucerne since fall 2023.
In her laudatory speech, Samira Guyot, President of the Board of the Lucerne student organization SOL and jury member, emphasized the prizewinner's ability to bridge the gap between science and the modern social challenges of our time. By artfully conveying the content of his lectures, Peter G. Kirchschlaeger succeeds in taking his students on a journey across this bridge and encouraging them to reflect.
The "Award for Best Teaching" has been presented annually since 2006 and aims to promote the quality of education at the tertiary level and strengthen the Swiss knowledge and research site. The award is chosen by the students of the University of Lucerne in a two-step process.
