The Federal Administration's Bilateral Programme
The federal government's bilateral programmes aim to promote and strengthen scientific cooperation between Switzerland and non-European countries with high or promising research potential.
The joint research projects are carried out on behalf of the State Secretariat for Education, Research and Innovation (SERI) by the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF) in cooperation with funding agencies in Argentina, Brazil, China, India, Japan, Russia, South Africa, South Korea and Vietnam.
In the "Leading House" model, selected Swiss universities are mandated by SERI to set up cooperation instruments for start-up funding and innovative pilot projects within the framework of bilateral programmes.
