Mr. Mojalefa Koloko is a doctoral research fellow at the Lucerne Graduate School in Ethics (LGSE) of the University of Lucerne. Prior to joining the University of Lucerne, he has been engaged as a doctoral research fellow under Archives and Public Culture Research Initiative of the University of Cape Town through funding of the Department of Science and Innovation and the National Research Fund of the Republic of South Africa. Initially trained in the fields of Philosophy, Political Science and International Relations, Mr. Koloko was inspired to collaborate with organisations that seek to promote international peace and security, international development, global governance, climate change justice, human rights, democratisation and humanitarian relief. To this effect, he has worked in collaboration with organisations such as the European Union Delegation to the Kingdom of Lesotho, New Hope Southern Africa, CGM Group and the Independent Electoral Commission of Lesotho. In addition, he has conducted research as Principal Investigator working with officials and experts from the United Nations Human Rights Commission in Port Elizabeth, the US Embassy in Pretoria, Embassy of the Federal Republic of Somalia in Pretoria and the Institute for Security Studies in Brooklyn and Addis Ababa. This research investigated ethical and legal issues raised by military drones under the current US intervention in Somalia. Through this research, Mr. Koloko was introduced to far more complex ethical problems raised by emerging technologies whose risk calculus transcends the threat posed by world war III. At this juncture, Mr. Koloko decided to focus on the ethics of digital transformation, the ethics of Artificial Intelligence and Robotics. His accolades include; being appointed as a member of the European Union Pula Fund, being appointed as a member of the emergency panel that sought to intervene during the 2014 political crisis in Lesotho that forced diplomatic missions such as the US embassy and the British Consulate to temporarily sojourn in South Africa, winning the EU local and expatriate HIV/AIDS awareness campaign and winning the Best Fire Fighter Male award HSTC 2013. He is a two times Rhode University graduate with a Master’s degree in International Relations and a BA (Honours) degree in Political and International Studies. He is also a holder of a Bachelors degree in Philosophy from the National University of Lesotho, a diploma in Public Ethics, a Diploma in French language and a certificate in Health and Safety Management (SAMTRAC).
