Centre for Theology and Philosophy of Religions (TheiRs)
Interreligious dialogue plays a central role in scientific research, especially in theology. The dialogue can be conducted either ‘in spite of faith’ or ‘thanks to faith’, without neglecting the individual religions.
The Centre for Theology and Philosophy of Religions promotes interreligious exchange by including all Abrahamic religions and conducting intercultural research and teaching as well as interdenominational networking. The aim is to train researchers in Jewish, Christian, and Islamic theology and philosophy in order to conduct research instead of stereotyping. To this end, we offer innovative courses and international programmes such as the ‘Master Philosophy, Theology and Religions’ (PhilTeR) are offered. We also have cultural events that promote discussions between experts and those involved in interreligious dialogue.
