About the Faculty
At the Faculty of Theology, the subject of theology is researched and taught as a forward-looking reflection of the Christian faith. The Faculty’s academic approach to theology enables it to foster a dynamic, open future for the Swiss church and society.
Nurturing interfaith and ecumenical dialogue is as important to the faculty as the in-depth discussion of ethical questions and a high level of practical relevance. In this respect, the faculty operates within the context of an ecclesiastical environment created by the Second Vatican Council and the Swiss Synod 72, and in a rapidly evolving multicultural and multifaith society.
The Faculty attaches great importance to individual academic advice and direct communication between students and lecturers.
The Faculty of Theology maintains dialogue between different theological and religious schools, and between various approaches to research, and regularly hosts public events.
