Teaching activities
The course “Private Law (Law of Obligations Parts I and II)” provides students with a comprehensive introduction to the fundamental principles of the law of obligations and develops their ability to think critically about private law issues. The course emphasizes how the law of obligations intersects with various aspects of daily life and is critical to the functioning of our society. The chair strives to use modern teaching techniques and ensure that the course content is accessible to all students, with the goal of providing a stimulating and engaging learning experience.
Research activities
The chair's research focuses on several key areas of the national and international law of obligations, including commercial law, general contract law, and tort law. The chair also conducts research in consumer protection law and has a special interest in (re)insurance contract law.
The chair adopts a comparative law approach, combining empirical research with insights from the social sciences, to gain a comprehensive understanding of practical legal issues in Switzerland.
