Valentin Schaer was born in 1996. He studied law at the University of Bern and was employed by the tax administration of the Canton of Bern during his Master's degree. After graduation in 2022, Valentin Schaer completed legal internships at an administrative authority, a civil and criminal court and at a commercial law firm. In July 2024, he was admitted to the bar of the Canton of Bern and received the award of the Supreme Court of the Canton of Bern for the best state exam of the period.

Since August 2024, he has been a research assistant at the Chair of Tax Law of Prof. Dr. iur. Andrea Opel.
