Josianne Magnin studied law at the Universities of Lucerne and Neuchâtel, graduating with a double master's degree in 2014. In 2016, she completed her doctorate under Prof. Dr Bernhard Rütsche with a thesis on police and state liability law, which was awarded the Prof. Walther Hug Prize and the dissertation prize of the Lucerne University Association. In March 2024, the Senate of the University of Lucerne awarded Josianne Magnin the Venia Legendi for Public Law and Competition Law after completing her habilitation procedure with Prof. Dr Nicolas Diebold and appointed her as a private lecturer.
Josianne Magnin completed legal internships at a commercial law firm in Zurich, an international commercial law firm in Brussels and at Schärer Attorneys at Law in Aarau and was admitted to the bar of the Canton of Aargau in 2018. Since then she works as an attorney at law (and since April 2024 as a partner) at Schärer Attorneys at Law in Aarau.
Josianne Magnin is a lecturer in public law at the University of Lucerne and a senior research assistant at the chair of Prof. Dr Nicolas Diebold.
