The law for businesses and markets is a fascinating patchwork of standards of widely varying legal nature, with legislators often partially guided by pragmatic considerations and individual interests. The chair of Private, Commercial and Business Law with a focus on Financial Market Law fosters research into understanding the legal framework for business as a coherent system based on shared evaluation perspectives. The primary fields of teaching and research conducted by Professor Contratto’s chair relate to financial market law, stock corporation law, capital market law, takeover law, (general) business law understood as a cross-sectional subject, and business ethics.
