Jürg Bühler is a doctoral researcher and lecturer at the Department of Social and Cultural Anthropology at the University of Lucerne. After obtaining a degree as a technical designer he studied social and cultural anthropology at the University of Zurich. An exchange semester also led him to the Free University of Berlin.
In his BA thesis he analyzed the Technorama, a Science Center in Winterthur. In his MA thesis he examined the care-ethics of a swiss catholic family active in the church and in several social projects. He gained further research experience during a university fieldtrip to North India where he worked with nationalistic students in Delhi and during an artistic research project about gift exchange in a residential neighborhood in Zurich.
He is currently developing a PhD project on well-being and care among transnational migrant workers.
