Catrina Klee
CV
Catrina Klee studied Popular Cultures at the University of Zurich. She completed her Bachelor studies with a thesis about today’s meaning of mobility. The two films Back to the future (I-III, 1985, 1989, 1990) and Easy Rider (1969) functioned as a research framework with which she discussed questions around today’s definition of mobility and meaning of traveling. Her master studies took her to Lucerne where she studied World Society and Global Governance with a specification in history. She completed her master studies with a thesis discussing women entrepreneurs and globalization in Africa. Titled «African women entrepreneurs as agents of globalization» she analysed four African women entrepreneurs working in different industries. By participating in the research project «Forschendes Lernen: Food Waste exposed» she broadened her qualitative research methods and conducted research on food waste in gastronomy. Her study titled «Und die Eimer füllen sich mit Unmengen an Essen, die der Gast nicht konsumierte - Zur Food-Waste-Problematik im Gastronomiebetrieb» has been published in the joint anthology «Wenn Food Waste sichtbar wird: Zur Organisation und Bewertung von Lebensmittelabfällen» (ed. Dr. phil. Nadine Arnold).
In December 2020 she started working on her PhD Project about the development of tourism in South Tyrol against the background of fascism focusing on history, world society and global governance.
