The CampusCard is a multifunction chip card, which can be used as employee identification and as a library card in the ZHB as well as for photocopying and printing.
You will receive your personal CampusCard at the start of the semester from the relevant contact person in your department/institute. The cards are valid until the end of the contract period and must be returned. A processing fee of CHF 30 will be charged if the card is lost.
Services
The canteen serves quick and reasonably priced lunchtime menus, along with self-service buffets and drinks with a focus on vegan/vegetarian cuisine. The coffee bar in the canteen foyer sells snacks, hot and cold drinks, and a small selection of kiosk items. A microwave is available in the room adjacent to the canteen. This can be used for heating up your own food.
Opening hours
Canteen: Mon – Fri 08:00 – 16:00 (lunch hours: 11:00 – 14:30), coffee bar: 07:30–17:30. The canteen can normally be used as a study room and common room outside of opening hours.
Payment
The canteen accepts cash payments, credit/debit cards as well as TWINT.
All courses at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences require online registration. Without registration, it is not possible to visit a course and to earn credits. The registration session for courses starts generally two weeks before semester start and ends on the Friday of the second semester week. During this period, it is possible to register as well as to deregister; afterwards the online registration tool is disabled.
Facility Management (FM): Any queries or requests for the university caretakers should be sent to the central e-mail address hauswart or directed to the FM Helpdesk @ unilu.ch
(tel. +41 41 229 51 51). The FM Helpdesk is staffed on Mon-Fri from 08:00–12:00 and 13:15–17:00, and on Sat from 08:00–12:00 and 13:15–16:00. In an emergency, a caretaker can be contacted on the Helpdesk telephone number during building opening hours. Facility Management does not offer a courier or message service.
IT Helpdesk: The University’s IT Department operates a Helpdesk. It is available on Mon-Thurs from 08:00–12:00 and 13:15–17:00, and on Friday from 08:00–12:00 and 13:15–16:00 via e-mail (helpdesk) and telephone (+41 41 229 50 10). @ unilu.ch

A cloakroom containing coin-operated day lockers is located on the first basement level (1. UG). These are primarily intended for external users (> See Work Centre).
The emergency number is +41 41 229 50 50. This number should only be used in an emergency.The alarm should be raised at the information desk on the ground floor. Do not call the police, ambulance and fire service directly.
The post room (E.219) on the ground floor is also a first-aid station.
All lecture theatres (ground floor and basement) and seminar rooms on the 3rd and 4th floors (72 seats in each) are equipped with microphone/speakers, projector, visualiser and whiteboard. All other seminar rooms are equipped with projectors, visualiser and whiteboards.
AV equipment: Users have to operate AV equipment in lecture theatres and seminar rooms themselves. A brief user guide is available in every lecture theatre and seminar room. In the event of a fault, please contact the FM Helpdesk (hauswart tel. +41 41 229 51 51). @ unilu.ch
Notebooks: All lecture theatres and classrooms belonging to the University of Lucerne (basement, ground, 3rd and 4th floor) are equipped with a notebook for use during classes. The notebooks are connected to a special network with WLAN internet access. They are equipped with Windows 10, Office 2016 and the VLC media player. If you wish to use these devices for presentations, all you need is a USB stick containing the data that you wish to use. You may also connect your own notebook. Mac users should remember to bring an adapter.
The range of media available from the ZHB site on the 1st floor of the UNI/PH-building includes academic publications, reference works, collections of source material, introductory/basic literature and research literature.

Lecturers can use this site to check whether the literature they require for teaching is available in Lucerne.
At the start of their employment, new lecturers receive an e-mail containing details of their university e-mail address (vorname.name) and login details for the OLAT e-learning and wireless LAN (Wi-Fi network). These data remain valid for the following semester. @ doz.unilu.ch

The main entrance is open from Mon–Fri between 07:00 and 21:30, and on Saturdays from 07:45–15:30. The building is usually closed on Sundays and public holidays.
Students, library users and anyone attending events in the building must vacate the premises by 22:00 at the latest (Mon–Fri) and by 16:00 (Sat). The night exit on the north side of the building must be used after 22:00. All other doors will trigger an alarm if they are opened.
The UNI/PH building is in close proximity to the railway station and bus terminal and is easily accessible by public transport. No car parking spaces are available. You can park your private vehicle in the station car park at your own expense. Covered stands for approximately 600 bicycles are available on the south side of the building (next to the railway line). The building can be accessed directly from here. 150 covered parking spaces for motorcycles and scooters are located in the parking block. From here you can use the entrance to the 2nd floor.
Photocopying: You can make photocopies on all multifunction devices in the public print rooms of the University of Lucerne (UNI) and the University of Teacher Education Lucerne (PH) building. You pay for photocopies with the CampusCard and the fee is charged to the relevant department/institute. Cash payments are not accepted for photocopies.
Printing: You can print using all multifunction devices in the public copy rooms of the UNI/PH building (via https://fprint.unilu.ch/#/login from a notebook).
The lecturers‘ common room has a printer which can be connected directly to a laptop using the USB cable provided.
Facility Management is responsible for paper and toner supplies, and for clearing paper jams in the public copy rooms (> see Contact / Facility Management).
All public rooms in the University of Lucerne (UNI) and the University of Teacher Education Lucerne (PH), the foyer, library, classrooms and meeting rooms have WLAN internet access. The WLAN coverage also extends to the ground floor forecourt (canteen area) and the recreation area on the 2nd floor.
Lecturers can also use their own laptops to access WLAN with their @doz.unilu.ch address
