CV

Samuel Lordemus is postdoctoral researcher at the research unit in Health Economics. He holds a PhD in Economics from the University of Sheffield (UK), a MSc in Economics from Paris School of Economics and a MSc in Materials Engineering from the University of Technology of Troyes. Before joining the University of Lucerne, Samuel worked as a Research Fellow at the Centre for Health Economics at the University of York between 2019 and 2022. During his PhD, he worked as a consultant for the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria.

His research interests are in Health, Development Economics, Political Economy and Applied Econometrics. He has been involved in projects in Colombia, Malawi, Liberia, the Democratic Republic of Congo and the Philippines. He has focused his research on examining the role of foreign aid in health system financing in low-income countries, the allocation of public resources in conflict settings and the historical determinants of modern health outcomes. He is currently involved in questions related to decision-making in the context of health, including health insurance choices.
