Boris Polanco works as a PhD student under the supervision of Prof. Diana Pacheco on Rehabilitation and Healthy Ageing at the University of Lucerne and the Swiss Paraplegic Research in Nottwill since November 2021.
Boris holds a master degree in Statistics from the Institute of Mathematical Statistics and Actuarial Sciences at the University of Bern in Switzerland (2018) and a bachelors degree from the National Polytechnic School in Quito – Ecuador (2015). During his studies, he has learned models and methods from Probability Theory, Statistics, Financial Mathematics and Actuarial Science. He has worked as an actuarial analyst in the Ecuadorian Institute of Social Security IESS as part of the actuarial, research and statistical department DAIE, developing models for the analysis of critical illnesses.
His research interests include health economics, actuarial risk theory and statistics.
