CV
Anica Ilic is a postdoctoral researcher at the Faculty of Health Sciences and Medicine, focusing on health communication in childhood cancer, particularly on the needs of affected families.
In September 2023, she completed her PhD in Health Sciences at the University of Lucerne. Her dissertation was titled “Understanding Health Information Needs and Behaviors in the Context of Childhood Cancer and COVID-19”. During her PhD studies, Anica was awarded a mobility fellowship from the Graduate Academy of the University of Lucerne. She spent six months as a visiting scholar at the Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta (USA). She further holds a MSc in Communication, Management, and Health from Università della Svizzera italiana (USI) and a BSc in Business Administration from the University of Applied Sciences and Arts of Southern Switzerland (SUPSI).
Throughout her academic studies, Anica was actively engaged as a research assistant in various national and international projects. Additionally, she collaborated as a teaching assistant within the Master's program in Health Sciences at the University of Lucerne.
Research
Anica’s research centers on health communication within the context of childhood cancer, emphasizing understanding the needs of affected families. Her primary research areas include:
- Psychosocial and supportive care needs
- Preferences and behaviors related to information-seeking
- eHealth and the use of digital communication tools in healthcare

e-QuoL: e-health tools to promote Equality in Quality of Life for childhood to young adulthood cancer patients, survivors and their families
The “e-QuoL” project will develop a variety of digital tools to assist young cancer survivors manage their health and their follow-up care. The project is a collaborative effort involving 30 institutions from 16 European countries. 2024–2027 -
