Sarah Mantwill is a coordinator in the Swiss Learning Health System (SLHS) and a postdoctoral researcher at the Department of Health Sciences & Medicine.
She is responsible for the day-to-day activities of SLHS, including scientific project reporting, monitoring and evaluation of project outcomes and the coordination of the PhD scholarship program.
Sarah holds a PhD in Communication Sciences with a focus on Health Communication from the University of Lugano, Switzerland. Prior to joining the Department, she was a postdoctoral research fellow at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health and the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, Boston (2016-2017).
She also holds a MSc in Communication and Economics from the University of Lugano and a BA in East Asian Economics and Politics from the Ruhr-University Bochum, Germany.
Research
Sarah`s research focusses on health information engagement among individuals from minority and low income populations, with a special focus on health literacy and its contribution to communication inequalities. Additional research interests include health disparities, the influence of social capital and isolation on health-related outcomes, and health-related media effects.
