Innosuisse funding for benchmarking tool
Together with the Centre for Human Resource Management (CEHRM), HR ConScience GmbH is developing a benchmarking tool for the HR sector. The project has now secured third-party funding.
The project “Evaluation of the HR Barometer Benchmarking and Analysis Tool” is led by Sarah Kost and Dr. Anja Feierabend, research associates at CEHRM. It aims to help companies compare their own employee data – such as expectations regarding job security, fair pay, and more – with the representative results of the “Swiss Human Relations Barometer” (see also the box below). This survey, which is conducted regularly, provides a representative snapshot of employees in Switzerland. Led by Bruno Staffelbach, Professor of Business Administration at the University of Lucerne, and until the end of last year, Professor Gudela Grote from ETH Zurich, the study has been offering insights into topics such as job satisfaction, leadership, career orientation and working relationships from the perspective of employees in Switzerland since 2006.
Basis for fact-based decisions
The data gathered for the "HR Barometer" serves as the core foundation of the planned benchmarking tool. The tool will help organisations more effectively identify their strengths and weaknesses, allowing them to develop targeted measures to improve working conditions. With its strong scientific basis, it will provide companies with a reliable foundation for fact-based decision-making and thus contribute sustainably to the optimisation of HR strategies and overall business success. The launch is scheduled for no later than June 2025.
The development of the benchmarking tool has been made possible by Innosuisse's “Innovation Cheque.” The Swiss Agency for Innovation Promotion supports innovative projects from start-ups and small to medium-sized enterprises with funding of up to CHF 15,000. This financial support is intended to assess the feasibility of new ideas in collaboration with a research partner. For this project, the CEHRM at the University of Lucerne is acting as the research partner and conducting the preliminary study on behalf of HR ConScience GmbH. A start-up affiliated with the University of Zurich, HR ConScience GmbH positions itself as a bridge between science and practice.
Funding secured for a further four years
The "Swiss Human Relations Barometer" has long benefited from third-party funding, notably from the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF) through its "Research Infrastructures" instrument. The SNSF has now approved continued project funding for the period 2025–2028.
