This talk will focus on K Sello Duiker's The Quiet Violence of Dreams and Akwaeke Emezi's Freshwater. I will elaborate on three different articulations of the body in both novels: embodiment, flesh, and transfiguration. This will link both novels to broader concerns in black studies.
