Divergent opening hours

Sunday opening
For students there are supplementary Sunday openings during the exam preparation period.
Summer closure
As a rule, the library is closed during the first two weeks of August. During this period our local holdings can then be ordered to our location at Sempacherstrasse.
Reduced summer opening hours
In July and the second half of August, we close as early as 18.30.

Search for Media
In our library catalogue swisscovery you will find printed and electronic resources for your studies. We recommend starting via the "Uni/PH-View": rzs-uniph.swisscovery.org.
Course Reserves
The semester literature selected by the lecturers of the University Lucerne is located on separately marked shelves and can be consulted on site until the end of June or the end of January. The items being part of the course reserves are not available for loan.
E-Media
For your literature search you may also use databases, e-journals, e-books, and e-newspapers. On site you have automatically access to these resources. Off-campus access functions via VPN client.
WLAN & external access

Media Request
If you need a particular title that we do not have in our stocks, you may submit a purchase request, see media request.
Reference Management
Manage your literature with a reference management program such as Zotero or Citavi. If you want to learn more about these software, join our courses labelled WISSEN+ (mostly in German). Please contact our information desk if you need help in English.
Learning spaces for the Master Thesis
25 seats are available for students who are writing their master's thesis. The workspaces are allocated for 10 months and are free of charge. The registration form is available at the information desk.
